Kyle has been a CPA for the past 20 years and specializes in working closely with privately held companies, from startups through mature companies ready for sale. Kyle has focused most of his career on serving clients within the construction, manufacturing, distribution, and retail industries. Kyle is a well-known and well-respected construction accounting expert, where he has focused on serving his contractor client base for the past 17 years. Kyle helps his clients develop valuable strategies and deliver high-quality services that align with company and personal goals. Kyle enjoys serving his clients by developing strong, meaningful relationships with his clients, assisting them in understanding financial statement analysis and presentation, setting profitability targets, implementing tax planning strategies, and providing business consulting services. Kyle deeply cares for his clients and strives to be viewed as a trusted advisor to them.

Kyle began his career as a CPA for one of the Big 4 accounting firms out of Chicago and then worked for a west coast regional firm, where he served as a Partner for 12 years, served as Construction Practice Leader for over 5 years, served on the Board of Partners for 4 years and served as Business Valuation Practice Leader for 3 years. After 20 years of being a CPA for large national and regional firms, Kyle was at a crossroads in his own life, and decided it was time to use his Midwestern work-ethic, experience and knowledge to build a San Diego-based, local firm focused on The Mission and The Vision stated above, which will allow team members to have the opportunity to grow in their careers and be able to focus on having meaningful relationships and serving clients as best as possible.

In addition to being a CPA, Kyle is also a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) and a Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA).  The CVA allows Kyle to provide business valuation advisory services and prepare business valuation reports which are typically needed for estate planning and tax compliance, business transition planning, and financial reporting purposes.   Kyle is known for saying, "The largest asset on a business owner's personal balance sheet is typically the business they own."  Understanding the value of that business helps Kyle provide ownership exit and transition consulting services where he can help create and structure ownership transition plans for the next generation while making sure there is enough for the outgoing owner to comfortably retire with.

Kyle graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business & Economics from Wheaton College and earned his Master’s degree in Accounting from Northern Illinois University. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants. Kyle is also a member of the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts (NACVA).  

Kyle has been married to his wonderful and supportive wife for over 20 years and they have 3 incredible children (one in college currently studying to become a CFP and possibly a CPA as well, one in high school and one in middle school).  In his spare time, Kyle is always keeping busy, whether it be training for his next (half) marathon or a potential future (half) Ironman, practicing baseball with his son, hanging out with family and friends, watching his kids compete, or fixing something around the house.
