Kyle Kamerlander

CPA, CVA, CEPA

With over two decades of experience as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Kyle Kamerlander specializes in advising privately held companies at every stage of growth—from startups to mature businesses preparing for sale. His expertise spans the construction, manufacturing, distribution, and retail industries, with a particular focus on construction accounting, where he has served contractor clients for the past 17 years.

Kyle is recognized as a trusted advisor, providing strategic financial guidance to help businesses optimize profitability, implement effective tax planning strategies, and navigate financial statement analysis. He is deeply committed to fostering meaningful client relationships, offering personalized business consulting services that align with both corporate and personal financial goals.

Kyle began his career at a Big 4 accounting firm in Chicago before joining a West Coast regional firm, where he served as a Partner for 12 years. During his tenure, he held leadership roles, including Construction Practice Leader (5+ years), Business Valuation Practice Leader (3 years), and Board of Partners member (4 years). After 20 years with national and regional firms, Kyle leveraged his Midwestern work ethic and industry expertise to establish a San Diego-based firm dedicated to providing high-quality, relationship-driven advisory services.

In addition to being a CPA, Kyle is a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) and a Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA). His CVA designation enables him to provide business valuation advisory services for estate planning, tax compliance, business transitions, and financial reporting. He is known for his insight that “the largest asset on a business owner’s personal balance sheet is typically the business they own.” This perspective informs his exit and transition planning strategies, helping owners structure succession plans that ensure financial security for both the outgoing owner and the next generation.

Kyle holds a Bachelor of Science in Business & Economics from Wheaton College and a Master’s in Accounting from Northern Illinois University. He is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the California Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts (NACVA).

Outside of his professional career, Kyle has been married to his supportive wife for over 20 years, and together they have three children—one pursuing a career in financial planning, and two in high school and middle school. He enjoys an active lifestyle, training for half marathons and potential future Ironman events, coaching baseball with his son, and spending quality time with family and friends.
